Scottish Country Dance

Scottish country dance is a social dancing style first popular in Scotland during the 18th century and then revived by the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society during the 1920s.It is considered the traditional "ballroom dancing" of Scotland.
One dances with a partner(a different person for eace dance, typically) in "sets" of 3 to 5 couples. It is a little bit like American square dancing,in that each dance consists of a series of patterns that you, your partner, and the other dancers in your set
make on the floor. However, rather than walking, you travel using one or a combination of a few steps. Also, the music is different, dances are not "called"while they are being danced, and there are no poofy skirts.Scottish country dancing is not Scottish highland
