On August 6th, The Society had the wonderful opportunity to induct Sheena Easton into our numbers as an honorary member. Following her wonderful performance at Stewart Park in Beaumont, about 25 of our members and 5 members from the Scotish Society of the Desert were pleased to be able to go backstage and present Ms. Easton with roses, a certificate of honorary membership and a Society pin.
Ms. Easton was gracious and kind and accepted the membership with pride. We were able to have pictures taken with her in groups.
Ms. Easton was born Sheena Shirley Orr in Bellshill, North Lanarkshire, Scotland. She attended the Roayal Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow. Honoring the contributions of people of Scottish heritage is one of our basic missions and it is in this light that we are very proud to count Ms. Eaton among our membership.
We thank Ms. Easton for a long career in which she has made significant contributions to popular culture in the U.K. and In the U.S.
