About Us Our Mission The Scottish Society of the Inland Empire is dedicated to bringing together people of Scottish ancestry, or those interested in Scottish traditions, practicing and preserving Scottish traditions, educating the public about Scottish traditions and heritage, promoting goodwill among our members and the public, and to the performance of charitable works and community service.
| History
In February 2007, the seeds of what is now the Scottish Society of the Inland Empire were sewn when society secretary, Bob Leeton approached Bob Goss, Wes Ray and Cameron Tillery about starting a Scottish Society in the Inland Empire. It didn’t take long for the germination to take place and they had their first meeting in Alta Loma shortly afterward. The “Founding Four” agreed to serve as an interim Board of Directors until membership and interest increased. Officers were selected and piper, Cameron Tillery, owner of R.P. Blandford & Son, Ltd., a Scottish import store in Redlands, was named as Advisor. Two more meetings were held at Blandford & Son working out the mission statement and membership forms and by the fourth meeting, held at the Royal Falconer, there were twelve people in attendance. A new board was elected and since that time membership has swelled to over 170 members.
